Treatment Approach
Strength-Based
We will identify what you are already doing well and build on your own unique strengths while we address other areas that can be enhanced.
Evidence-Based
This approach uses what the research shows works well for various struggles Examples include:

Skill Building
We will build a “tool box” of skills that research shows works. This may include DBT’s mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotion regulation skills; relaxation techniques for anxiety; Time Out methods for healthy fighting; assertiveness skills to respectfully address conflict; parenting interventions that help co-regulation with ADHD kids; Teflon Mind for obsessive thoughts; CBT’s identification of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to assess for any cognitive distortions
Goal Setting
We will clarify attainable goals to get you from where you are to where you want to be. We will explore: Who is the person that you want to be? What is the kind of life you want to live? What is missing? What may be more effective ways to reach your goals and the relationships you desire?
